Services
Thesis Coach specialises in high-stakes academic writing support for Master's / PhD students and early-career researchers. Whether you're starting from scratch or refining existing drafts, we help through deep editing, coaching, and structural guidance, so your ideas stay yours while the text becomes clearer, more rigorous, and easier to defend.
1. Proofreading (Language only)
Line-by-line English polishing for theses, journal articles, and research proposals.
- Grammar, spelling, punctuation, and tense consistency
- Academic tone and register (hedging, modality, formality)
- Basic formatting according to journal or university guidelines
- Tracked changes + brief comments where meaning is unclear
Typical use: final language check before journal submission or thesis defence.
2. Editing (Language + structure)
Deeper intervention on argument, structure, and clarity — especially helpful when you write in English as a second language or work with complex methods.
- Reorganising paragraphs and sections for logical flow
- Clarifying research questions, contributions, and takeaways
- Improving topic sentences, transitions, and signposting
- Commentary on where evidence and explanation are still thin
Typical use: full-thesis polishing, revise-and-resubmit responses, or major journal submissions.
3. Code-paper consistency & methods audit
For quantitative / engineering / CS projects, we offer code-paper alignment checks:
- Mapping parameters.py and core scripts to specific thesis sections and equation numbers
- Flagging where experimental settings in the code are missing from the methods chapter
- Checking that figures, tables, and reported metrics can actually be reproduced from your code
- Delivering a structured report (e.g. "program-thesis parameter mapping", "missing content checklist")
Typical use: signal processing, control, machine learning, optimisation, and other code-heavy theses.
4. Literature review & policy / management theses
Many of our clients work on healthcare management, public policy, and military-civil fusion topics (e.g. DRG/DIP payment reform, hospital cost control, resource sharing mechanisms).
- Structuring long literature reviews into clear themes and comparison tables
- Aligning empirical chapters with the theoretical framework and research questions
- Strengthening the "management implications" and "policy recommendations" sections
- Helping you prepare defence slides and talking points in clear English
Typical use: MBA / MPA / public health theses on payment reform, hospital management, and policy evaluation.
5. 1-on-1 coaching & defence preparation
Personalised sessions (online) to work through your thesis, chapter by chapter.
- Clarifying your story: problem, gap, method, contribution
- Mock defence questions and "weak point" analysis
- Reviewing slides and tightening your narrative for committees
- Planning a realistic revision roadmap under tight deadlines
You keep ownership of all ideas and writing; we act as your sparring partner and editor.
How the process works
- Share your situation. Use the intake form to leave your email, degree, deadline, and a short description.
- Document review. We skim your thesis / paper / code to estimate work and suggest the right service level.
- Quote by email. You receive a written quote with scope, price, and timeline. Nothing starts until you clearly agree.
- Editing & feedback. We work in tracked changes and comments, plus separate reports for code-paper audits or literature mapping where relevant.
- Follow-up support. You can ask clarification questions by email after delivery; for bigger changes, we propose a follow-up plan.
